Kapanlagi.com - In addition to mandatory prayers, we are familiar with sunnah prayers. Although not obligatory, performing sunnah prayers can be a way to get rewards. Sunnah prayers also have virtues. Tahajud prayer is one of the sunnah prayers that is often performed. Therefore, it is important for every Muslim to know and understand the intention of Tahajud prayer.

Tahajud prayer is a sunnah prayer that can be performed at night. In addition to the time of performance, there are several things that distinguish Tahajud prayer from obligatory prayers and other sunnah prayers. One of the differences is the intention of Tahajud prayer. In addition, of course, there are other things that must be considered during Tahajud prayer. What are they?

Summarized from various sources, here are the intentions of Tahajud prayer and other reviews that every Muslim needs to know.

1. Tahajud Prayer Time

As mentioned earlier, tahajud prayer can be performed at night, starting from after isha prayer until the time of dawn. However, it is recommended to perform tahajud prayer during the last third of the night (before dawn). This is because the last third of the night is believed to be one of the most effective times. Therefore, it is suitable for worship and supplication.

2. Tahajud Prayer Intention

Intention is an important aspect in performing any act of worship or good deed. The sincerity when reciting the intention determines whether the act of worship is accepted or not. Therefore, it is very important to know and understand the intention for tahajud prayer.

By doing so, we will be more focused and sincere in performing this voluntary prayer. As a result, the blessings and rewards obtained will be more significant. The intention for tahajud prayer is as follows:

Ushallii sunnatat-tahajjudi rak'ataini (mustaqbilal qiblati) lillaahi ta'aalaa.

Meaning:

"I intend to perform two rak'ahs of sunnah tahajud prayer (facing the qibla) for the sake of Allah Taala."

3. Tata Cara Sholat Tahajud

Not less important than the intention of performing tahajud prayer, Muslims must also know the procedures or implementation of this voluntary worship. Tahajud prayer is performed in an even number of rak'ahs, starting from two rak'ahs to unlimited, with the condition that every two rak'ahs are followed by one salutation.

In terms of implementation, there is actually no difference between tahajud prayer and other prayers. There are also no specific recitations that must be recited during tahajud prayer. However, at the end, tahajud prayer is often accompanied by performing three rak'ahs of witr prayer as a closing.

4. Doa Setelah Sholat Tahajud

In addition to the intention of tahajud prayer, it turns out that there is a special prayer recommended to be recited after performing this voluntary prayer. The recitation of the prayer is actually one of the prayers of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which is found in one of his hadiths narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. The prayer goes as follows:

Allaahumma rabbana lakal hamdu.Anta qayyimus samaawaati wal ardhi wa man fii hinna.Wa lakal hamdu anta malikus samaawaati wal ardhi wa man fii hinna.Wa lakal hamdu anta nuurus samaawaati wal ardhi wa man fii hinna.Wa lakal hamdu antal haq. Wa wa'dukal haq.Wa liqaa'uka haq.Wa qauluka haq.Wal jannatu haq.Wan naaru haq.Wan nabiyyuuna haq.Wa Muhammadun shallallaahu alaihi wasallama haq. Was saa'atu haq.Allaahumma laka aslamtu.Wa bika aamantu.Wa alaika tawakkaltu.Wa ilaika anabtu.Wa bika khaashamtu.Wa ilaika haakamtu. Fagfirlii maa qaddamtu, wa maa akhkhartu, wa maa asrartu, wa maa a'lantu, wa maa anta a'lamu bihi minnii.Antal muqaddimu wa antal mu'akhkhiru.Laa ilaaha illaa anta.Wa laa haula, wa laa quwwata illâ billaah.

Artinya:

"Ya Allah, Tuhan kami, segala puji bagi-Mu, Engkau penegak langit, bumi, dan makhluk di dalamnya.Segala puji bagi-Mu, Engkau penguasa langit, bumi, dan makhluk di dalamnya.Segala puji bagi-Mu, Engkau cahaya langit, bumi, dan makhluk di dalamnya.Segala puji bagi-Mu, Engkau Maha Benar. Janji-Mu benar.Pertemuan dengan-Mu kelak itu benar.Firman-Mu benar adanya.Surga itu nyata.Neraka pun demikian.Para nabi itu benar.Demikian pula Nabi Muhammad SAW itu benar. The Day of Judgment is true. Yes, my Lord, only to You I surrender. Only to You I believe. I submit to You. Only to You I return. Because of You, I am willing to fight. Only to You is the basis of my decision. Therefore, forgive my past and future sins, the sins I hide and the sins I confess, and other sins that You know better than me. You are the First and the Last. There is no god but You. There is no power and strength except with the help of Allah.

That is among the intentions and meanings of performing the tahajud prayer. May it be beneficial and increase our faith as Muslims. Amen.
