Residents Struggling to Breathe During Eid Homecoming in Malang, Police Immediately Evacuate

Kapanlagi.com - A motorcyclist passing by reported that her elderly family member is experiencing critical breathing difficulties. The elderly woman needs immediate medical treatment while traveling during the Eid homecoming season.

"At that time, an elderly woman was reported to be experiencing shortness of breath," said Ipda Dicka Ermantara, the Public Relations Officer of Malang Police, in his statement on Sunday (14/4).

Personnel on standby for securing the Eid homecoming at Malang Police Resort handled the emergency incident and quickly evacuated it from the location in front of Malang Police Resort, Kepanjen, Malang Regency, on Saturday (13/4/2024).

The Quick Reaction Team of the Traffic Unit of Malang Police Resort, who were on duty during Operation Ketupat Semeru 2024, immediately coordinated with the PSC 110 ambulance standby to provide medical treatment as soon as possible.

However, the situation became more urgent because several hospitals around Kepanjen Subdistrict, Malang Regency, were full of patients.

2. Escort for Ambulance

To ensure the smooth and fast evacuation of patients, two personnel from the Quick Reaction Team of Malang Traffic Unit provided an escort for the ambulance carrying the patients to Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) in Malang City. This step was taken considering the increased volume of vehicles and the busy traffic during the long Eid holiday.

"In this situation, we must ensure that the patients receive immediate and appropriate assistance," he added.

3. Condition of the Victim is Still Under Intensive Care

Ipda Dicka mentioned that currently, the condition of the elderly woman is still under intensive care at Saiful Anwar Hospital. The quick response from the police officers of Malang Police Department is appreciated as a life-saving measure in the emergency situation.

Good coordination among various related parties is expected to enable effective and efficient emergency response to save lives and provide necessary assistance.

“The evacuation is part of the efforts by Malang Police Department to ensure the safety and security of the community during the Eid holiday travel season,” he concluded.
