Supporting the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition, BRI Realizes Excellent Craft SMEs for Indonesia's Advancement

In order to promote and encourage superior crafts, the National Handicraft Council (Dekranas) held the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition with the theme "Superior Crafts, Advanced Indonesia" on September 13-17, 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). Presenting Hundreds of Skilled Craftsmen's Products from Across Indonesia

Hundreds of products from skilled craftsmen from all corners of the country are beautifully displayed at the event, which was attended by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Vice President's wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI, which is one of the sponsors of this event, also showcased the best craft products from fostered SMEs.

The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is one of the concrete manifestations of Dekranas in efforts to develop the capacity of business actors and local craft products while preserving the cultural image of all regions in Indonesia. Wury Ma'ruf Amin said that this event also brings economic benefits to Indonesia.

"Superior crafts are not only about respecting traditions and culture, but also about creating jobs, promoting sustainability, and generating significant economic benefits for Indonesia," she said in her speech at the opening of Kriyanusa 2023.

Has Been Held for 6 Consecutive Years

In line with Wury, Liza Thohir, the wife of Indonesian Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir and Chair of Dekranas Funding Division, hopes that this event, which has been held for 6 consecutive years, can once again help local products. On the other hand, she hopes that craftsmen can further enhance their creativity.

"The main goal of the Kriyanusa Exhibition is to help market Dekranasda's fostered products and provide space for the Nusantara craft industry to continue to strive for creativity and innovation in order to improve its business performance and showcase its superior products," she said.

Four BRI-Fostered SMEs Participate

BRI also did not miss the opportunity to facilitate local businesses engaged in handicrafts to be more recognized globally. The bank, with the most customers in Indonesia, gave the opportunity for four of its fostered SMEs to showcase a number of products.

The four SMEs are Craftote: Gallery & Coffee, which produces products from bamboo weaving and also operates a coffee shop, Lion Keramik Industri with household products made of ceramics, Lampu Runa with creatively designed and environmentally friendly lamps, and Maja Watch with environmentally friendly watches.

Consumer Business Director of BRI, Handayani, said that the opportunity to participate in this annual Dekranas event is very valuable, especially for fostered SMEs. This is in line with BRI's commitment to elevate SMEs to the global market.

"BRI is present to provide services in supporting the government's program in terms of capital for SMEs. The role of SMEs in meeting the needs of the community is very important, so it is expected that with the participation of BRI's fostered SMEs in Kriyanusa 2023, it will further legitimize the public's trust in SMEs," he said.

This year's exhibition, which highlights the cultural icon of Betawi, is enlivened with various events such as talk shows, craft demonstrations, fashion shows, and arts from various regions. The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is also more lively with the Dekranas Award program, which is one of Dekranas' appreciations for creative entrepreneurs and artisans who have the best crafts in Indonesia.
