Tourist Attractions in Batu City Have Been Opened, Visits are Still Below Expectations

Kapanlagi.com - Several tourist attractions in Batu City have reopened, but the level of visits is still considered low. The tourists who come are still below expectations, even on weekends.

"Because it is still early to open and in a situation like this, the visitors who come are still far from expectations," said Titik A Riyanto, Marketing Manager of Jatim Park Group, Titik A Riyanto at JatimPark 2 Batu City, Wednesday (1/7).

Titik conveyed that not all tourist attractions under the JatimPark Group have reopened, after a hiatus of about the last 3 months. Only two tourist attractions reopened on June 27, namely Jatim Park 2 and Eco Green.

1. Below Target

However, the visitation rate is still below the targeted number, which is half of the normal capacity. For example, the number of visitors at JTP 2 on the first day of opening was less than 500 people.

Meanwhile, the daily target during the pandemic recovery period is 3000 visitors. Half of the total capacity of JTP 2 is 6000 visitors.

"On Sunday, there was an increase of 1100 visitors, but it's still not as we expected. Hopefully, visitors will continue to come to the tourist attractions," he explained.

Meanwhile, during the transition period, visitors are required to purchase tickets online. Purchases can be made through the official website of JatimPark Group or through agents who have cooperation with JTP 2.

Online purchases also serve as a limitation on ticket quotas. This way, it can regulate the physical distance of tourists at the location.

2. Health History

Tourists are also required to fill out their health history data online or at the location. Before entering the tourist site, body temperature checks will be conducted, wearing masks is mandatory, and visitors must wash their hands and use hand sanitizer.

Prior to the entrance gate, there are designated queue markers that are spaced according to regulations. One of the markers is green and faces the body temperature sensor displayed on the monitor screen.

Staff will direct visitors to wash their hands at specially designed and spaced sinks. Staff will also attach tickets to visitors' arms and pour hand sanitizer onto their hands.

All staff members wear complete protective equipment, including masks, face shields, and gloves. Staff members are also stationed throughout the attractions and will remind visitors to follow the rules at all times.

3. Temporarily Closed

"There are some special measures implemented in JTP 2, including the temporary closure of our indoor rides such as the haunted house, animal-related attractions are temporarily suspended, and the swimming pool is still closed," he emphasized.

The place is considered to have the potential for gatherings that are difficult to control. Therefore, it also has the potential to become a means of spreading Covid-19.

"My hope is that it will gradually improve because we and JTP 2 are committed to implementing strict health protocols, both for visitors and internal employees. That is our commitment, hopefully tourists trust us and try to recreate. Coincidentally, this week is the holiday week for children," he explained.

There are already tourists staying at hotels in Batu City. So it is expected that the attractions managed by JTP 2 will soon return to normal.

Meanwhile, other tourist attractions under Jatim Park Group that have not been opened are currently in the application stage. They are waiting for checks from the Covid-19 Task Force and operational permits from the Batu City Government.

"We are gradually doing this, based on evaluations from Jatim Park 2 and Eco Park. If everything goes smoothly, we will gradually open our other attractions," he emphasized.
