Actor Fendy Chow is now trying new challenges in the acting world. He is starting to leave behind his identity as an FTV star and is more focused on starring in digital series.
"I'm just enjoying it, I want to change my image from what it was before, more like Fendy Chow the FTV actor," he revealed when met in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta.
Fendy admits that his decision arose from a sense of boredom with the monotonous roles he often played in soap operas and FTV.
"Actually, it's not just that, maybe there are some points, a little bit of saturation with characters that sometimes feel the same," he explained.
Unlike FTV, which often presents simple love stories, digital series according to Fendy provide a broader space for exploration in terms of characters and stories. "In a series, sometimes the stories are really different from one another," he said.
Fendy added that the production process of the series also makes him feel more involved and deeply engaged with the characters more seriously. "The nice thing about shooting a series like this is that everything is probably prepared better," he stated.
The characters he plays are now much more diverse. Fendy even enjoys the challenge of portraying contrasting roles from one production to another. "I’m really enjoying shooting characters that are really drastic from each title," he said.
Now Fendy hopes to continue to grow in the acting world and deliver his best performances in various roles he plays. "The last one was very much a player, and now suddenly he becomes an intern who is a good boy," he concluded.
