When met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/2/2025), Ikang expressed how difficult it is to go through days without Marrisa. "It's very difficult. Because no matter what, she is my wife, her role is extraordinary. She plays a significant role in my life. In any process, she is always present," said Ikang.

Nevertheless, Ikang tries to be strong and believes that this is God's best plan. "What is best for us is not necessarily what is best for God. So what is best for God is automatically what is best for us," he said.

Ikang also shared that every corner of the house is now filled with memories of Marrisa. This makes the feeling of loss even more tangible. "Wherever, the room, in the house, especially. So, remembering her, I have realized that moving forward I need to affirm that. This is my life," he said.

To cope with the grief, Ikang regularly prays in congregation with his children and prays for Marrisa. Although they do not visit the grave every day, prayers are always offered for his beloved wife. "Whenever we feel the need, you know. Because I feel she is already here (in the heart). So going to the grave is just physical. The spirit is, insya Allah, every day," he said.

For Ikang, the children are the greatest source of strength amidst the loss. They often take on Marrisa's role in daily activities. "They wake up too, trying to prepare the things that their mother used to do," said Ikang.

Moreover, Ikang feels that Marrisa's departure is a test of faith for him. He tries not to question destiny but rather to accept and live life with the belief that everything that happens is God's best plan. "What He gives is definitely the best, not a mistake. Because it is impossible for Him to make a mistake," he explained.

In his reflection, Ikang also remembers the messages that Marrisa had conveyed before her passing. Those messages have now become a guide for him and the children in living their lives. "There are so many messages like that. It has been prepared like that," he said.
