The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) paid his respects at the funeral home of Titiek Puspa on Friday (04/11/2025) morning. SBY conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased. In addition, SBY also took the time to perform the funeral prayers before the deceased was buried at TPU Tanah Kusir after Friday prayers. As is known, Titiek Puspa had previously shared moments with SBY on March 21, 2025. Titiek Puspa attended an invitation from SBY for a celebration to connect with a number of Indonesia's proud singers and musicians.
In that post, Titiek contributed her voice even though she admitted that her vocal condition is not what it used to be. Nevertheless, Titiek's presence and participation received direct praise from SBY.
Titiek Puspa is known to have a close relationship with several Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia. Titiek Puspa has sung at the State Palace starting from the era of President Sukarno, SBY, to Jokowi.
SBY, wearing a white koko shirt complete with a black cap, entered the mourning house of Titiek Puspa located at Wisma Puspa, Pancoran, South Jakarta on Friday (04/11/2025) morning.
According to SBY, the spirit and dedication of Titiek Puspa to the world of art are extraordinary. He referred to the singer of the song Kupu-Kupu Malam as someone who never tires of serving the beloved country through the path of culture. "She seems to never tire of dedicating herself to beloved Indonesia," he said.
During his tenure as President of Indonesia, SBY admitted to having met Titiek Puspa several times, especially at various events related to art and culture. In every meeting, he always witnessed the extraordinary spirit and energy of the figure affectionately known as Eyang Titiek. "She seems never to tire of dedicating herself to our beloved Indonesia," he said.
SBY feels that the passing of Titiek Puspa is a great loss, not only for the world of art but also for the Indonesian nation. He also prays that the deceased finds the best place beside God Almighty. "Yes, we have lost a cultural hero," he expressed.
The body of Titiek Puspa will be buried on Friday afternoon (11/4/2025). The burial location is at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, Block AA1 Blade 48.
