After the case file was declared complete or P21, the South Jakarta District Attorney officially received the handover of the suspect Vadel Badjideh. The second stage handover was carried out by investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The Head of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Prabowo, stated that they had studied the case file in depth before declaring the completeness of the file. According to him, the process of handing over the suspect and evidence was carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures.

"We will report or convey the progress of the case related to the suspect named VAB. So after we conducted a review of the file submitted by the investigator colleagues from the South Jakarta Police," said Prabowo at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office on Tuesday (6/3/2025).

"We have stated that the file is complete and we declare P21, and today, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, we have reached the process of handing over the suspect and evidence, or better known as the second stage," Prabowo added.

In this second stage process, the prosecution team is still conducting research to ensure the articles that will be charged against Vadel. Prabowo mentioned several articles from various laws that are applied in layers.

"Regarding today's second stage event, it is currently under research on our end and based on the report from the Head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, we will later apply several articles. Among them are Article 81 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, then Article 77A paragraph 1, still regarding the Child Protection Law, there are several articles, 428 letter a in conjunction with Article 60 of Law No. 17 of 2003 concerning Health Law, and Article 348 of the Criminal Code," he explained.

Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office has appointed two Public Prosecutors (JPU) to handle this case. Prabowo assured that the indictment will be made as well as possible before being submitted to the court.

"We will try to implement this article in layers, and after this second phase, I will appoint a Public Prosecutor who will process this case and hold hearings in court," he said.

"We have appointed two Public Prosecutors, and after the second phase, we will refine the indictment, prepare the charges, and we will thoroughly examine and perfect the indictment until the time we submit it to the court," he continued.

In addition, the prosecution has also imposed further detention on Vadel. He will be held for the next 20 days at Cipinang Prison for the interests of the prosecution phase.

"On this occasion, we will also carry out further detention during the prosecution phase for the next 20 days, which will be conducted at Cipinang Prison. And we, the public prosecutors, will certainly complete the indictment as soon as possible and promptly submit this case to the court," said Prabowo.

During the extended detention period, the prosecutor will prepare the charges in detail and carefully. Prabowo also hopes that the public can monitor the developments of the ongoing legal process.

"Certainly, the public and friends can monitor the next progress. So for the next 20 days, we will refine it, the prosecutor team will prepare the charges," he concluded.
