After the case file was declared complete or P21, the South Jakarta District Attorney officially received the handover of the suspect Vadel Badjideh. The second stage of the handover was conducted by investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The Head of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Prabowo, stated that they had thoroughly studied the case file before declaring it complete. According to him, the process of handing over the suspect and evidence proceeded in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.

"We will report or convey the progress of the case regarding the suspect named VAB. So after we conducted a review of the file submitted by our investigator friends from the South Jakarta Police," said Prabowo at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office on Tuesday (6/3/2025).

"We have stated that the file is complete and we declare it P21, and today, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, we have reached the process of handing over the suspect and evidence, also known as the second stage," Prabowo added.

In this second stage process, the prosecutor's team is still conducting research to ensure the articles that will be charged against Vadel. Prabowo mentioned several articles from various laws that are applied in layers.

"Regarding today's second stage event, it is currently under research on our part and based on the report from the Head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, we will apply several articles. Among them are Article 81 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, then Article 77A paragraph 1, still regarding the Child Protection Law, there are several articles, Article 428 letter a in conjunction with Article 60 of Law No. 17 of 2003 concerning Health Law, and Article 348 of the Penal Code," he explained.

Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office has appointed two Public Prosecutors (JPU) to handle this case. Prabowo ensured that the indictment will be made as well as possible before being submitted to the court.

"We will try to implement this article in layers while after this second stage I will appoint a Public Prosecutor who will later process and hold hearings in court," he said.

"We have appointed two Public Prosecutors, and after the second stage, we will refine the charges, prepare the indictment, and we will thoroughly examine it, perfecting the charges until the time comes for us to submit it to the court," he continued.

In addition, the prosecutor's office also imposed continued detention on Vadel. He will be detained for the next 20 days at Cipinang Prison for the interests of the prosecution stage.

"On this occasion, we will also carry out continued detention at the prosecution stage for the next 20 days, which will be conducted at Cipinang Prison. And we, the public prosecutors, will certainly complete the charges as soon as possible and submit this case to the court as soon as possible," said Prabowo.

During the extended detention period, the prosecutor will prepare the indictment in detail and carefully. Prabowo also hopes that the public can monitor the developments of the ongoing legal process.

"Certainly, the public and friends can monitor the next progress. So for the next 20 days we will perfect it, the public prosecutor team will create the indictment," he concluded.
