A Series of Comedians and Artists Hold a Flag Lowering Ceremony, Returning to the Nation's Zero Point

A number of Indonesian comedians held a flag lowering ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Spreading invitations on the social media account of the Bekasi Embassy, this event is held at Proclamation Park on August 17, 2025, and is titled the Nation's Zero Point.

"Today we will return to the Nation's Zero Point. Remembering, reflecting, responding, the initial intention of independence. We will distribute the 'Nation's Zero Point' newspaper to all friends, but the quantity is limited," as stated in the post on social media (17/8).

Acting as the ceremony leader, Boris Bokir appeared serious and full of reverence. This flag lowering ceremony is the initial initiative of the comedians along with the late Gusti Irwan Wibowo, which carries the spirit of nationalism and collaboration.

"The existence of this point is important as the initial trigger of independence. It marks the beginning of a nation's independence and an autonomous region. This Zero Point is crucial to return to the noble values of early independence. Oh, youth of the nation, let us remember the struggles of our heroes to liberate our nation," so explained in the caption of the post by @kedubesbekasi.

This place was chosen because in the past, Zero Point was always bustling, progressive in inspiring the youth, and collectively contributing to Indonesia.

This message symbolizes that independence is not just a ceremonial celebration, but also a reflection on the nation's journey.

The lowering of the flag ceremony was completed smoothly and without obstacles. The comedians appeared grateful and embraced each other.

These artists want to inspire the community to not only celebrate independence formally, but also to reflect on the deepest meaning of independence itself.
