Accused of Drug Abuse, Karen Pooroe 'Hits Back' at Marshanda's Statement

Kapanlagi.com - Marshanda became a witness for Arya Claproth in the trial of alleged domestic violence against Karen Pooroe. After giving her testimony, the actress made a statement that Karen had attempted suicide and consumed drugs.

"What I know is that she has attempted suicide twice. The first time was in 2015, when she was under stress, in an unstable state due to consuming something inappropriate. I won't say it explicitly," Marshanda said when approached by the media at the Bandung District Court, West Java, on Tuesday (16/2/2021).

1. Approving the Consumption of Medications

When this was confirmed to Karen, the singer who came from the Indonesian Idol competition denied that she wanted to commit suicide. However, she admitted that she did consume medications.

"I experienced psychological domestic violence, so I sought help from a psychiatrist and received a prescription for the medication I took to calm down and sleep," explained Karen when interviewed by KapanLagi.com in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/2/2021).

2. Strengthening Statement

According to Karen Pooroe, Marshanda's statement actually made it easier for her. It is true that she experienced psychological domestic violence and ended up taking medication based on the prescription given by the psychiatrist.

"If she says that I consume medications, then it means she is making it easier for me. It further strengthens the fact that I have been experiencing psychological domestic violence since 2015. It is impossible for someone who is not depressed to go to a psychiatrist. I need help," she emphasized.

3. Reminding Marshanda

It is no secret that for years Marshanda has often met with psychiatrists and consumed medication related to her bipolar disorder. Karen Pooroe reminds Marshanda that they also do the same thing even though their cases are different.

"Don't you also take medication? You must understand better. It's not just any medication bought outside, I have a prescription from a psychiatrist, you know," Karen emphasizes.
