Actor Ammar Zoni has just undergone a verdict hearing for a drug case at the West Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/4/2026). The panel of judges sentenced him to seven years in prison and a fine of Rp 1 billion.
His younger brother, Aditya Zoni, who was present at the trial, reacted to the verdict. Aditya Zoni admitted he was very shocked to hear that his brother would have to spend a long time in prison.
"Yes, shocked, shocked. Shocked and disappointed, you know. That's why I can't find the words," said Aditya Zoni when met at the West Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (27/08/2024).
Although feeling disappointed, Aditya sent a strong message to Ammar Zoni. He asked his brother to act like a man and take responsibility for his actions, which have now led him to be involved with drugs for the third time.
"Yes, he needs to be more of a man, he has to take responsibility for what he has done, right?" said Aditya Zoni.
Aditya also provided a boost of encouragement so that his brother would not lose hope. He considers this punishment as a significant trial that must be faced for a better life change in the future.
"Keep your spirit up, Bang Ammar, this is not the end of everything. This might just be the pebbles in life," he said.
Currently, the family is placing great hope on the next legal steps. Aditya hopes there is a chance to appeal so that Ammar's sentence can be reduced from the current verdict.
"Hopefully just pray for the best, hopefully the appeal can be even lower, that is our hope," concluded Aditya Zoni.
