The famous comedy vocal group in the country, Project Pop, is known to have not produced any work for a long time. Nevertheless, their name is still familiar to the public. After 11 long years, this music group, which was formed in 1996, finally releases their latest album titled '2856'.
This album marks a new chapter for Project Pop, which has been active in the Indonesian music scene for 28 years.
Album 2856 is the 10th album for Project Pop, which will depict their consistent spirit, despite losing one of their members who passed away in 2017, namely Oon.
"Even though now we are present as a group of five, but we bring the spirit as if we are still a group of six with our friend, the late Oon," said Tika Panggabean when met in Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, (28/6) Friday afternoon.
Not only that, this album also serves as a celebration of Project Pop's 28th anniversary. According to them, this long journey has not been easy.
"Maintaining unity and productivity for 28 years is not easy," said Yosi, in the same occasion.
"It takes maturity, gratitude, and responsibility to prioritize collective interests above personal interests," he added.
In addition, the 2856 album is also a form of dedication and loyalty from Project Pop in the Indonesian music industry to maintain spirit and solidarity. This album is also dedicated to the late Oon.
"Although we are now only five, we carry the spirit of the late Oon in every step according to the theme of this new album, which is consistency and commitment," he said.
For your information, this album, which contains 11 songs, features the most collaborations throughout Project Pop's career. There are Nagita Slavina, Inul Daratista, Eka Gustiwana, HIVI, and many more involved in this album.
