After a Long Acting Hiatus, Indra Bruggman Admits He Misses Filming but Has Conditions

It has indeed been quite a while since Indra Bruggman's face graced the small screen or the big screen. Now more focused on his Muslim fashion business, this senior actor admits that he occasionally feels nostalgic about returning to the world that made his name.

When met recently in the Mampang area of South Jakarta, Indra did not deny that he has a longing to act in front of the camera again. However, his current busyness often diverts those feelings. Here are the details.

After a long hiatus, Indra admitted to being more selective in choosing the offers that come his way. He wants a project that can truly mark his return to the entertainment world with something memorable.

"If you're on a long hiatus, you want, at least, our appearance to be something that makes people take notice again, right?" he explained.

Interestingly, Indra revealed that the main factor that would make him accept an offer is not the large honorarium, but rather the person behind the director's chair. For him, the director is the soul of a film or soap opera. "Whatever it is, what's important is that the director is good. Because the essence of a film or soap opera lies in the director," he emphasized.

He is even willing to compromise on payment if the project is handled by a director whose quality he trusts. According to him, a good script can become mediocre if executed by an inexperienced director.

"If the fee can be flexible, that’s fine. But if the director is good, then that’s okay. The fee is whatever. If I have set a rate, it means I'm still not sure about the director," he said.

In the midst of his busy business schedule, Indra also has a hobby of watching movies. He admits to being a big fan of the horror genre and really enjoys films like INSIDIOUS.

"I prefer horror. Even when watching shows on YouTube, I watch horror. Because I like the adrenaline rush, it feels different, like the thrill is unique," he concluded. Â
