Musician Ahmad Dhani visited Bareskrim Polri to consult regarding the disappearance of his personal Instagram account. Dhani stated he wanted to find out the technical procedures and the reasons behind the disappearance of the account from public reach.
The frontman of the band Dewa 19 intentionally met with cyber experts at the police to discuss. He felt there was something unusual about the process of his account disappearing, which just occurred within less than 24 hours.
"So, we asked how the process of Instagram being taken down works. And according to our friend up there, it’s not likely due to a mass report, it’s not possible. Once looked at, there’s an important person who could get access to take down my Instagram like that," said Ahmad Dhani when met at Bareskrim Polri, Monday (04/05/2026).
Dhani explained that this consultation is important because not everyone understands how a digital platform takes down content. He initially came for another agenda, but the conversation evolved regarding the condition of his Instagram account that had disappeared.
The disappearance of the account is suspected by Dhani to be closely related to a post that went viral a few days ago. He mentioned that the content had a very significant impact and may have made certain parties feel uncomfortable.
"Yes, that post. That post is very important, it gets 20 million views a day. It's very dangerous for some people," explained Ahmad Dhani.
Although he has consulted with the police, Dhani emphasized that his presence today is not for the purpose of making an official police report. He just wants to ask and investigate further regarding the authorities involved. "Not yet, just asking earlier," said Dhani.
Currently, Dhani is trying to communicate with Instagram to recover his account. He emphasized that this incident was not caused by a mass reporting movement from netizens.
"There has been communication. It's being taken care of, it's being taken care of. But this is definitely not a mass report. There are other authorities above that. We're not, not saying it's the government, right? I am also the government," he said.
