Dewi Perssik Reveals 16 Organized Accounts Spreading Hoaxes About Death Issues

Dangdut singer Dewi Perssik revealed suspicions of organized actions by dozens of social media accounts spreading false news about her death. Depe, as she is affectionately known, has identified at least 16 accounts that take turns doing live broadcasts with the misleading narrative.

The modus operandi used by the perpetrators is quite neat by utilizing the joint live broadcast feature on the TikTok platform. They take turns activating the hoax narrative even though the previous accounts had already been monitored directly by Dewi Perssik.

"Wait, where is it? It will appear again when live, I will join again, 'Oh the kuntilanak is here'. Then later again. So it's like that. So it's together like that. There are about 16 accounts, right," said Dewi Perssik when met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

The perpetrators of spreading this fake news deliberately schedule their broadcasts so that the information continues to circulate on social media. Dewi Perssik claims to have gathered evidence in the form of recordings from all the accounts involved in the provocative actions.

"Those 16 accounts each go live. So later, when one account goes offline, another goes live in turn. And I have already recorded all 16 accounts," she said.

Among the many accounts involved, there is one shocking fact discovered by Dewi Perssik. One of the account owners confessed that the act of spreading the hoax was not done of their own accord, but rather at the command of someone else.

"Among the 16 accounts, there was one person who said, 'It's not me, I'm just being asked. I was asked, I didn't interfere with Mbak Dewi, we apologize.' One account. Now I want to know who asked that, why did you agree, you know," he explained.

Communication efforts were actually made by Depe to inquire about the intentions behind the actions of the perpetrators. However, those individuals immediately cut off communication access and blocked the singer's account as soon as she appeared.

"There was no (communication), I was blocked! I said, 'Oh, so you want to meet me at the police station, huh?' and I was immediately blocked-blocked-blocked like that," she said.

Dewi Perssik emphasized that she wants to give a deterrent effect to those individuals who often seek profit from fake news. She feels that the detailed narrative of the accident is very detrimental to her reputation and peace of mind because it seems so real.

"What I want is to create a deterrent effect. If it's reported as a hoax, that's up to them. But if it goes live and during the live they talk about the chronology of the accident, it seems like it's true," concluded Dewi Perssik.
