Ammar Zoni Shocked Demanded 12 Years Imprisonment, Public Prosecutor Reveals Aggravating Reasons

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the drug case involving Ammar Zoni was held again at the West Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (16/7/2024). The agenda this time was the reading of the indictment by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

Ammar was demanded twelve years of imprisonment, reduced by the period of detention and a fine of Rp 2 billion. The basis of the indictment issued by the JPU is based on the testimony of Akri, who was a key witness in the previous trial.

Ammar Zoni's demand is different from the other defendant, Akri, who only received ten years in prison reduced by the detention period and a fine of Rp 2 billion. This is because Ammar is said to be ambiguous in admitting his actions.

"The criminal demand has mitigating and aggravating reasons. The aggravating reason is that Ammar Zoni does not admit his actions as the financier. Meanwhile, Akri admits it, without ambiguity, straightforward. That's our consideration for a lower demand for Akri," said Khareza.

2. In Accordance with the Law

Khareza Mokhamad Thayzar stated that the 12-year demand is based on the law. Ammar Zoni's party is also given the opportunity to submit a plea or defense at the next Tuesday's hearing (23/7/2024).

"If the demand is in accordance with the law. The indictment is Article 114 Paragraph 1, which still allows for twelve years," Khareza added.
