Armand Maulana Recycles Coboy Junior's Song, What is Bastian Steel's Response?

Kapanlagi.com - Armand Maulana has just released a single by recycling the song 'Kamu' popularized by Coboy Junior. Although this song was originally sung by children, Armand Maulana does not feel embarrassed. He actually thinks this song is very good since it was released in 2013.  

"Because for me, as a musician, it's not about who sings it. I never look at whether it's sung by a girl, a child, an old person, or whatever. I focus more on the angle, whether the song is good, whether the chemistry between the melody and the lyrics is good, and so on," said Armand Maulana during a virtual R&R Talks, on Friday (12/6).

So what do the members of Coboy Junior think when their song is performed by seniors like Armand Maulana? Former Coboy Junior member, Bastian Steel, also gave his comment. "Yesterday I had an Instagram live with Bastian. His reaction was surprised, like 'wow, how can this happen', and of course he was happy. He said thank you," he said.

But what made Armand Maulana the happiest was that Bastian was inspired to create a work like him. Because during this corona pandemic, Bastian felt unproductive.

"What makes me happy in a positive way is that Bastian immediately said to me 'Why have I been silent for three months at home, how can Kang Armand release a work like that'. Finally, after it's finished, he promised to release a single. For me, it's one of the happy actions and reactions that can inspire someone to create something good for everyone," said Armand Maulana.

2. Create Your Own Dance

Although the song 'Kamu' performed by Armand Maulana carries an acoustic concept, he still brings a new color to the song. Armand Maulana even created his own movements so that his followers could follow along by making the Tik Tok Challenge.

"When I heard the chorus, I suddenly thought why not create a simple choreography for TikTok. At first, I wanted to call my choreographer friend, but if the movements are from a choreographer, it would be intentional. I'm not even sure if I can do it," he said.

"I thought about this for the public. Ah, forget it, I'll try to imagine it with the beat and look in the mirror. So, I actually created the movements," he added with a laugh.
