Atta Halilintar Speaks Out About His Family's Unpaid Compensation for Covering the Song 'Lagi Syantik'

Kapanlagi.com - Atta Halilintar claimed to have no knowledge of the Supreme Court's decision to order Gen Halilintar's family to pay IDR 300 million in compensation for covering the song "Lagi Syantik".

"I don't know. I mean, I haven't updated myself, but as far as I know, my siblings covered the song without any intention of defaming it," said Atta Halilintar in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/5/2022).

He feels strange that Nagaswara, the record label that produced the song "Lagi Syantik," is suing his family.

1. Confused

Atta also compared it to his family's single release of Ziggy Zagga, which was covered by others.

"There were so many covers of the Syantik song all over Indonesia before, so it's weird that our family was targeted. I'm also confused and in my opinion, my family had no intention of defaming the song or anything like that," he said.

2. Family is Not a Problem

His family is not a problem for others to change the lyrics. As long as the word Atta doesn't make the song bad.

"The family once made a song called Ziggi Zagga, and many people covered it as Zikir Zakat or something. We don't mind as long as it doesn't belittle the song," he said.

3. Will Learn a Lot

He, who is puzzled about the copyright issue that has befallen his family, said he will learn a lot from the case.

He also said he didn't know what steps his family would take regarding the Supreme Court's decision.

4. Fined IDR 300 Million

As is known, on December 23, 2021, the Supreme Court granted the Review filed by PT Nagaswara, sentencing Gen Halilintar to pay IDR 300 million to Nagaswara for recycling the song Lagi Syantik by changing the lyrics, producing and commercializing it without permission on YouTube.

"I don't understand yet, my family hasn't confirmed anything to me, so I don't know anything yet and I'm still learning from this case," he said.

5. Has Not Paid Compensation Yet

According to Nagaswara's legal representative, Yos Mulyadi, the Gen Halilintar family has not yet fulfilled the punishment by paying compensation.

"This legal decision is final and legally binding. But until now, there has been no good faith to pay," said Yos Mulyadi, in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (5/19/2022).
