In the trial, Fariz RM's legal team, led by Deolipa Yumara, presented members of the backing group Anthology, namely Eddy Parameansyah and Herwan Wiradireja. Both were brought in by the legal counsel to provide mitigating testimony for Fariz RM in the trial held on Thursday (3/7/2025). Fariz RM's fellow musician provided testimony highlighting the health condition and productivity of the artist, who is considered very professional in every performance.
"I have known him for a very long time, we worked together around 2004, in a group called Anthology and Fariz RM. Alhamdulillah, we have accompanied his music a lot during this time," said Herwan Wiradireja during the session at the District Court on Thursday (3/7/2025).
Herwan described Fariz as a genius musician. He even mentioned that Fariz had never been seen using drugs before performing on stage. This becomes an important point in the defense presented by the legal team.

"Throughout our collaboration, just like most musicians, he is intelligent and talented. The works produced are extraordinary and of high quality, for example, Barcelona, Sakura, there are many," he said.
In addition to his musicality, Herwan also highlighted Fariz's attitude when backstage. According to him, Fariz always shows a friendly and pleasant demeanor when interacting with his team. This testimony is hoped to provide information that alleviates the charges against Fariz RM.
"No issues, just normal, fun, we enjoy making music, we pray before performing, and Alhamdulillah, everyone is very happy. Very good, humble, professional, and he is not a difficult person," said Herwan.

Meanwhile, from the legal counsel's side, Deolipa Yumara explained that Fariz currently requires medical treatment, not a judicial process. He believes that his client is a victim of drug abuse and should be placed in a rehabilitation center. Deolipa Yumara believes that Fariz RM needs support and recovery more than a heavy prison sentence.
"He should be rehabilitated, not tried. Why trial? Because someone mischievously filed charges as a dealer, because dealers are tried. This is what we regret about the investigative pattern by the police investigators and the prosecutor's office. This should not require a trial and should be taken directly to BNN, to a hospital via BNN, rehabilitation is also possible, because users are victims," said Deolipa.
Fariz RM was arrested on February 18, 2025, in Bandung, a day after his driver was arrested. The police seized 7.4 grams of marijuana and 0.89 grams of meth as evidence.
Fariz RM is charged with violating Article 114 paragraph (1) and Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. If proven guilty, the prison sentence he faces ranges from 12 to 15 years. Fariz RM himself denies the accusation of being a drug dealer. He admits that drug use was done as a means of relaxation after performances.
According to Fariz RM's confession, he does not use drugs to support his music work, but rather as relaxation after performing. He denies using drugs for creativity and admits to consuming meth after the show.
