Besides Asking for Business Closure, Ruben Onsu Once Demanded Compensation of 10 Billion Rupiah from I Am Geprek Bensu

Kapanlagi.com - Before the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia rejected the lawsuit of Ruben Onsu regarding the trademark, Sarwendah's husband asked for all I Am Geprek Bensu stores to be closed.

This was confirmed by Eddie Kusuma, the legal representative of I Am Geprek Bensu, during a press conference held at the Red Top Hotel in Pecenongan, Central Jakarta, on Friday (12/6/2020).

"That's outrageous, the store cannot use the name Bensu because it is considered to belong to him, his name (Jordi and Ruben). So he asked me what to do, and I said just go ahead, because we have a legal entity and that (business) belongs to us," he said.

Not only that, Ruben also sent three consecutive warning letters. Ruben accused I Am Geprek Bensu of breaking the law and demanded compensation of 10 billion.

"Finally, the first, second, and third warnings were sent and it reached the court. First, to Jakbar accusing us of breaking the law. 'What law did we break? Do you have a trademark permit? No, you don't.' He went to PN Jakbar to avoid the trademark issue because I know his strategy," said Eddie.

"Then, Jakbar ruled against us. I was confused because the trademark issue was in Central Jakarta Court, but this one was in West Jakarta and the judge dared to rule against us. Moreover, we were asked to pay 10 billion in compensation," he continued.

2. Ruben Onsu Buys Another Business

Eddie said that Ruben filed another lawsuit at the Central Jakarta District Court. He also bought the Bengkel Susu (Bensu) business to strengthen his case and ownership of the business name in the Commercial Court.

"They bought it to strengthen their claim against us. They lost twice and then bought it. After buying, they filed a lawsuit based on that. Bengkel Susu sells milk, not chicken geprek, how can they be the same? Even their logo is a cow with a key, while ours is a chicken," he concluded.
