Clara Shinta on Ex-Husband Not Providing Child Support: Don't Normalize Irresponsible Men

Kapanlagi.com - The dispute between Clara Shinta and her ex-husband DG also touches on the issue of support for their child. Clara expressed her disappointment because her ex-husband did not fulfill the monthly support that was agreed upon.

"I told KPAI that he must fulfill his responsibilities as a man and as a father with a minimum support of 5 million per month, but he did not comply," said Clara Shinta when met by KapanLagi at Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (04/06/2024).

1. 5 Million Minimum Figures

According to Clara, the amount of Rp 5 million per month is the minimum figure she proposed for her child's needs. However, DG prefers to file a lawsuit rather than fulfill his basic obligations as a father.

"So he chooses to sue instead. It's strange because as parents, we should just pay the child support and there’s an official ruling to just pay the child support to meet the child, it's for the child, not for me," Clara explained.

2. Bear Your Own Child's Costs

Clara emphasized that she has always independently borne all the costs for her child's needs. She strongly rejects the normalization of men who run away from the responsibility of providing support.

"Economic issues are not an excuse, and we should not normalize any man not supporting his child, because if we normalize this, there will be other irresponsible men using it as an example," she asserted.

3. DG is Said to Often Look for Excuses

In fact, according to Clara, DG often looks for excuses to avoid that obligation. Meanwhile, the court's decision regarding the alimony has already become legally binding.

"Men must still be responsible for whatever it is. From KPAI until now, has he provided alimony? No, there hasn't been any. Since the divorce ruling, there has been none," Clara expressed further.

4. Wants DG to Show Good Faith

Clara Shinta only wants her ex-husband to show good faith as a father. For her, fulfilling the child's rights is the top priority above their personal conflicts.

"It would be better if he looks for a decent job, an additional job so he can provide for my child, so that 5 million isn't just an excuse," concluded Clara Shinta.
