Daniel Deadsquad Uses Marijuana Due to Stress from Not Performing During the Pandemic

Kapanlagi.com - Deadsquad band vocalist Daniel Mardhany was arrested by the North Jakarta Metro Police for drug abuse. He was apprehended along with his colleague, identified as AA, who is a former drummer of Deadsquad band, on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

During a press conference held at the North Jakarta Metro Police on Monday, May 4, 2021, Daniel explained the reason behind his consumption of marijuana.

"I was stressed. Yes, because of the pandemic, there were no live performances at all. You can understand, right?" Daniel said.

1. Regretting the Actions

Daniel then expressed regret for his actions. He vowed not to use drugs again. "I regret using drugs. And this case has made me realize my mistake. And to my friends, don't use drugs because it will ruin your life. That's my message," he said.

Daniel, who admitted to only trying marijuana a month ago, was arrested following the arrest of AA. After interrogation, it was discovered that AA obtained drugs from Daniel.

2. Evidence

During the arrest, synthetic tobacco evidence belonging to AA with a gross weight of 2.57 grams and one pill of prohiper medicine belonging to Daniel were found.

Both of them have undergone urine tests and proven to have consumed marijuana, they are charged under Article 127 paragraph 1 Letter A of the Indonesian Law No. 35 Year 2009 concerning narcotics.

"For DM, the maximum criminal threat is 2 years and for AA it is 4 years," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Pol Guruh Arif Darmawan.
