Long-time Drug User, Jeff Smith Has a Book About Marijuana and Has Been Rehabilitated

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Jeff Smith was arrested by the police for the abuse of marijuana. He was arrested in the Jagakarsa area, Jakarta, along with his accomplice identified as D on Thursday (15/4/2021).

After investigating his case, the police conducted a search at Jeff Smith's house and found several pieces of evidence, including four books about marijuana.

1. Secure 4 Books

"What's interesting is that we secured 4 books related to marijuana. We are currently investigating this. However, we are more focused on the article regarding drug abuse itself," said the West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Pol. Ady Wibowo, during a press conference on Monday (19/4/2021).

In addition, another interesting fact about Jeff Smith was revealed by Ady Wibowo. According to him, the 23-year-old actor has been using marijuana and synthetic tobacco or gorilla since graduating from high school and has undergone rehabilitation in December 2020.

2. Sempat Jalani Rehab

"From the confession of the suspect, he used marijuana or similar substances after finishing high school and he underwent rehabilitation in December 2020. The rehabilitation was done voluntarily, not in the context of being caught," said Ady Wibowo.

For his actions, Jeff Smith is charged with Article 111 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) letter (a) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics, because he was caught possessing, storing Cannabis with a minimum prison sentence of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years, and a minimum fine of Rp800 million.
