Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from renowned journalist Najwa Shihab. Her husband, Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf, passed away on Tuesday (20/5/2025) at 14:29 WIB at PON Hospital, Jakarta. The news of the deceased's passing shocked many, including Deddy Corbuzier, who knew him personally.
The body is laid to rest at the funeral home in the Jeruk Purut area, South Jakarta, and is planned to be buried on Wednesday (21/5) at 10:00 WIB at TPU Jeruk Purut.
Deddy Corbuzier, who attended the wake, expressed his shock. He stated that the cause of Ibrahim's death was due to a sudden stroke from a ruptured blood vessel.
“Because this was sudden, they said it was a stroke from a ruptured blood vessel,” said Deddy Corbuzier, Tuesday (20/5/2025).
According to Deddy, the deceased was known as an active figure and appeared healthy. Even in their last meeting, Ibrahim looked fit.
“He (her husband) was just fine,” he said.
The news of his passing felt very sudden. Deddy mentioned that there were plans from the deceased to climb a mountain, indicating that his physical condition did not show signs of serious illness.
“That’s right, he said there were plans to climb a mountain,” Deddy revealed.
Nevertheless, Deddy also heard that Ibrahim had a history of type one diabetes. This was suspected to have worsened his condition when the stroke attack occurred.
“Information from above, he has type one diabetes,” he added.
Deddy did not dare to comment much about Ibrahim's family background, including his relationship with Quraish Shihab. He chose to focus on providing moral support to Najwa, who was grieving.
“I don’t dare to say much,” he said briefly.
Deddy also took the time to meet directly with Najwa Shihab at the mourning house. He revealed that Najwa was crying, and he could only encourage her to stay strong.
“Earlier I met her, Ms. Nana immediately talked to me, she was also crying, I just said that the important thing is to stay strong, we just pray for him,” he concluded.
