The singer Denada is currently facing new challenges in raising her only daughter, Aisha Aurum. As her child grows and enters her teenage years at 13, the challenges Denada faces are becoming increasingly complex, especially with their situation of being in a long-distance relationship between Indonesia and Singapore.

Denada acknowledges that each stage of a child's growth has its own level of difficulty. Here is her heartfelt story.

For Denada, the current situation feels different because she cannot be in the same house as Aisha all the time. This requires her to make various adjustments in raising her child amidst her busy work schedule in the homeland.

"Now there are still (adjustments), but the form may not be the same as it was back when she was a pre-teen. And it feels like, for me, everyone definitely has their own ways," said Denada regarding the changes in parenting Aisha.

"Especially since I have a specific condition and situation, which might be somewhat different from Aisha. That I am in a Long Distance Relationship (LDR) with Aisha," Denada continued, expressing the challenges of raising a child when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta recently.

The condition of being a single working parent across countries makes Denada have to think creatively. She realizes that ideally, a family has both a father and mother who share roles directly in the home. However, to meet needs and provide the best education, she has to be willing to travel back and forth between Indonesia and Singapore.

"So there are many things that we have to adjust, many compensations that I have to make. And many parenting models that I feel may not be so popular nowadays, but I ultimately decided to adopt and implement with Aisha because I feel it is more suited to our situation and condition," she explained.

Although it is not easy, Denada continues to learn to understand her child's character as she grows older. She strives to remain emotionally present even though physical distance is a barrier. Intense communication becomes the main key for Denada to monitor Aisha's development every day.

"As a mother, especially having children in today's era, the challenges are heavy in every era. My mother raised me during my growing up years, when I was entering pre-teen and becoming a teenager, and of course there were challenges then too, just different ones," she expressed.
