The spokesperson for the Tangerang District Court, Fathul Mujib, confirmed that Ijonk has now officially become a defendant in this case. "So today is the first hearing with the defendant Jonathan Frizzy with the agenda of reading the indictment from the Public Prosecutor," said Fathul Mujib, Wednesday (6/8/2025).
The most crucial fact is that the Public Prosecutor is using alternative charges. This means that Jonathan Frizzy is charged with two different articles simultaneously from Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics.
"Charged with alternative charges. The first charge is article 60 paragraph 1 letter c of Law Number 5 of '97 concerning Psychotropics or the second charge is article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics," explained Fathul Mujib.
Article 60 paragraph 1 letter c itself regulates the prohibition of receiving the delivery of psychotropic substances other than from authorized parties, which leads to suspicion of involvement in the distribution chain.
Meanwhile, Article 62 targets anyone who unlawfully possesses, stores, and/or carries psychotropic substances. The use of this alternative charge provides an option for prosecutors to prove one of the articles deemed most appropriate to the actions of the defendant.
The background of this case is the alleged active role of Ijonk in facilitating the shipment of vape containing Etomidate from Malaysia, including creating a WhatsApp group to monitor the couriers.
