Ernest Prakasa Tells the Difficult Challenges in Working on the Series 'Nurut Apa Kata Mama'

Kapanlagi.com - Ernest Prakasa had a new experience when producing the latest series titled Nurut Apa Kata Mama. Because, the comedy script in the series had to be limited and not as wild as Ernest's usual habit when working on a project.

When met by the media, the 41-year-old man explained his reasons.

"If it's limited, yes, but in a sense it makes sense because we can't just say whatever we want. For example, Jejen and Roy often argue about what kind of insults are still acceptable to be shown on YouTube, so our debates can be quite long; 'fool' oh fool is too harsh, pea can or cannot be used," said Ernest Prakasa when met in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (24/7/2023).

"So this is also a new experience for me as a creator facing comedy that has limitations that are reasonable," added Ernest Prakasa.

Because it is very limited, this father of two children feels that the series Nurut Apa Kata Mama is very different from the previous works he has ever worked on.

"So, this is a very challenging project, because comedy is synonymous with something wild, mischievous, out of the box," said Ernest Prakasa.

As someone who is experienced in the film industry, Ernest certainly brainstormed to ensure that the comedy dialogue in the series Nurut Apa Kata Mama remains within reasonable limits.

"Yes, there are things we have to be subtle about, making sure there are no offensive behaviors and language," said Ernest.

Ernest also reminded the cast not to improvise carelessly and to watch their language while playing their respective roles.

"We have explained to them (the cast) from the beginning, the challenge of working on this is that you cannot speak carelessly. Please watch your language," concluded Ernest.

The series Nurut Apa Kata Mama consists of 8 episodes. Starring Asri Welas, Rohana Srimulat, Shenina Cinnamon, Aci Resti, Arif Didu, and Yono Bakrie, the series will air starting Tuesday (25/7/2023) on Solusi BCA's YouTube channel.
