Sitha Marino's Story of Shooting Scenes of Possession by Supernatural Beings and Reciting Javanese Mantras

Kapanlagi.com - Sitha Marino once again showcases her acting skills. This time in a horror genre film titled MANTRA SURUGANA. In the film, Bastian Steel's girlfriend is trusted to play the main character. She portrays the character of Tantri, a college student who is sensitive to the supernatural and often witnesses someone's death.

During the process of deepening the character, Sitha Marino admitted that she didn't encounter too many obstacles. Because the character of Tantri is almost similar to her in real life.

"The character of Tantri is similar to the real me. She is quiet, doesn't talk much to people, and is timid," said Sitha Marino during a press conference for the film Mantra Surugana, at XXI Metropole, Cikini, Central Jakarta, on Friday (21/7/2023).

1. Challenges Faced by Sitha Marino

Despite being timid, Sitha enjoys filming. She has gained many valuable experiences during the filming of MANTRA SURUGANA. One of them is during the possession scene by supernatural beings.

"Those scenes were really challenging for me. I had to find out how to portray the possession. The director also gave me freedom, and that's where the difficulty lies," she expressed.

Another challenging task is memorizing the summoning mantra in ancient Sundanese language.

"I'm not Sundanese, so it was a bit difficult for me to memorize. But luckily, everything went smoothly," she said.

2. Sitha Marino's Pride

After watching the film in its entirety, Sitha Marino feels a sense of pride.

"Honestly, I was a bit nervous watching my acting because it's the first time I saw the whole film. I didn't expect it to be this great. I am very proud to be part of this film, and I hope horror lovers can appreciate my performance," said Sitha Marino.

The film MANTRA SURUGANA will be released in theaters starting from July 27, 2023. This film highlights the Sundanese Mantra in the tradition of ancient manuscripts. The Sundanese Mantra is seen as a document and local cultural wisdom of the Sundanese.
