Facts About Kristo Immanuel, Director of 'TINGGAL MENINGGAL', Has Been Watching Movies Since Age 5 Through DVD

Kristo is now 28 years old. He studied for a Bachelor's degree in Film at Multimedia Nusantara University from 2016 to 2020. Kristo officially married a woman named Jessica Tjiu on February 22, 2022, at GPIB Immanuel Jakarta.

Initially, Kristo was known as an actor starring in feature films, short films, musicals, music videos, and web series. Kristo began directing a short film titled DEALING WITH MYSELF in 2020. He also served as an assistant director in the film TEKA TEKI TIKA & KAKA BOSS. 

In a session at KapanLagi Show some time ago, Kristo Immanuel opened up about his feelings regarding his debut.

"It feels like a mix of emotions. Sometimes mixed. There’s nervousness. Not nervous of course because the film is about to be released. Then very happy. Very grateful because this is an opportunity that little Kristo could never have imagined would happen. Very, very grateful," Kristo said.

"I really liked it since I was maybe 5 years old. Because since I was little, I was used to watching movies. My dad once took me to see the movie Tarzan back then. The cartoon version in the cinema. Then I had a habit since I was little of liking to watch DVDs. So I would buy, back when renting DVDs was a thing, still in the era of renting DVDs. Maybe the current generation doesn't understand, they might not relate to renting," he continued.

Kristo also shared about how he has loved movies since he was 5 years old. Kristo mentioned that he watched movies through DVDs.

"So the main character uses comedy to come to terms with the events in his life. So Gema, since he was little, didn't have friends, he didn't get attention from his parents either, he was very lonely, he had no one in his life, basically he lived alone. But he uses that comedy to come to terms with it," Kristo revealed.
