Fahmi Bachmid Reveals the Condition of Kiano and Kenzo Amid the Divorce Process of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven

Amid this polemic, the condition of their two children, Kiano Tiger Wong and Kenzo Eldrago Wong, remains a primary concern. Fahmi Bachmid, the attorney for Baim Wong, ensured that Kiano and Kenzo are in good condition.

When met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (4/2/2025), Fahmi emphasized that both children of Baim and Paula are not experiencing any issues in their daily lives even though their parents are in the process of divorce.

"Healthy and well, the children have no problems. They go to school, it’s school time, and when it’s playtime, they play. They are taken care of, loved, and so on," Fahmi stated.

1. Child Support Lawsuit

Fahmi also highlighted the news regarding the child support or marital property lawsuit in this divorce. He stated that his side did not file such a claim in the lawsuit. The main focus for Baim, according to Fahmi, is to provide the best for his children.

"There is no marital property claim. My lawsuit never included a claim for marital property. We are only addressing the disputes related to the marriage bond, which is why they want to end their marriage through divorce," Fahmi explained.

2. Children as a Priority

Regarding the child support demand from Paula, Fahmi chose not to comment much and suggested that such questions be directed to the relevant parties. However, he emphasized that Baim's priority is to ensure that the children feel comfortable and at ease.

"I just ask for the best interests of the children. What makes the children comfortable, what makes them relaxed, calm, and not traumatized with their father. But it does not eliminate the rights of a mother. That is definitely the decision, like that," said Fahmi.

3. The Right to Express Desires

Fahmi also emphasized the importance of making children subjects, not objects, in divorce situations. He explained that although Baim and Paula's children have not yet reached the age of 12, they still have the right to express their desires.

"So we try to position the child as a subject in this matter, not an object. So they have rights, even though they are not yet mumayiz (mature). Because they are human, they are not objects. As humans, they have the right to determine their desires," he added.

4. Facilitating Children

Furthermore, Fahmi recounted that Baim has been trying to facilitate Paula's desire to meet the children. However, often the children choose to return to their father. He believes that forcing the child will only make them a victim.

"If, for example, they refuse, then persuade them, find a way for the child to want to. Do not just drop them off, and as soon as they are dropped off, the father returns, and they cry asking to be taken back to their father again. So who is at fault? Should the child be forced, executed, and taken?" Fahmi said.

5. Follow the Child's Wishes

According to Fahmi, situations like this show that decisions that force children will only make them victims. He hopes that all parties can understand what children truly want for their own good.

"If you love, if you care for your child, then what the child wants should be followed, as long as it is something right. For example, if they don't want to, just let it be, persuade them so that they will want to. That's how it is," he concluded.
