Firasat Kidnep Flanella Prior to Basia's Death Due to Covid-19

Kapanlagi.com - Former keyboardist of Flanella, Basia Sarihta Kaban (40), passed away after being exposed to Covid-19. The deceased was detected with Covid-19 on June 18 and received treatment at Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) Malang.

The deceased was pronounced dead on Monday (28/6) at 01.55 WIB and was buried in TPU Sukun, Malang. Before being exposed to covid, Basia had traveled to Jakarta.

"So Basia returned from Jakarta, then she didn't feel well, and then she tested positive for Covid-19. We didn't expect it, suddenly, I thought she would recover, maybe there were comorbidities," said Kidnep, the vocalist of Flanella when contacted on Monday (28/6).

1. Frequently Communicating

Kidnep confessed that the last time he communicated with Basia was on June 9th, when a musician wanted to cover Flanella's song. Since the song was a collaboration, Kidnep suggested calling Basia as well.

"But I also need Basia's permission, because the song is also his creation. Finally, the communication came back to me, saying that there is permission to cover the song 'Bila Engkau.' He said he got the phone number from you," Kidnep said, imitating Basia.

At the end of the conversation, they asked each other about their health conditions. Both of them were still healthy and still frequently called each other.

"How's your health, Bas? Thank God you're healthy, Bas," he said.

2. Kidnep's Premonition

Previously, Kidnep and Basia were also involved together in a project on a friend's YouTube channel. The three of them, Kidnep, Ayik (Ayik Santiaji, guitarist), and Basia sang Flanella's song (Anjeli) and Roulette's song (Aku Jatuh Cinta).

Kidnep still can't believe the return of his close friend. He received the news from a friend of the deceased's brother.

"For the past two days, he kept dreaming, but it didn't occur to him. Yesterday, during his afternoon nap, he dreamt again. He said something, and only then did I realize it was a farewell," he explained.

"Until now, I still can't believe that he's gone, I never expected it," he said with a heavy voice.

3. Friend in Joy and Sorrow

Kidnep recounted his career journey with Basia in Flanella. He was initially invited to join the band and make a demo song that was sent to the label along with Vanie, his manager.

"The three of us started together. From there, I started learning, I could make songs with Basia. From zero to being able to make songs with her," he said.

They both had an agreement to make songs together and support each other during their work. So their names were always together in Flanella.

"We started from scratch, sent demos to the radio, the label didn't accept them. Eventually, we agreed to work with an indie label first, there were many ups and downs in building Flanella," he revealed.

Because many demos sent to the label were not accepted, they finally agreed to strengthen their local area first and believed that producers would eventually find them. "We were tired of looking for a label, finally the label found us and that's true," he said.

Basia is known as a keyboardist and has created many songs for Flanella, including Anjeli, Yang Satu, and Dinda. He also formed a new band called Roulette with their hit song, Aku Jatuh Cinta.
