Starting from a Casual Chat, Grindboys Now Opens a Warkop in South Jakarta

Besides Rico, Gofar, and Wancoy, there is also Renda Rais who is involved in this business. Renda Rais is not only known as a famous concert photographer, but he also has knowledge and experience in the FnB world. "The concept came about because Renda is also in the same circle as us, he has good FnB knowledge and so on," said Rico.

The name Warkopolim itself is taken from the location where this coffee shop stands. Gofar said that the name also represents the laid-back character typical of the three of them. "Why Warkopolim? Because it’s in Panglima Polim," said Gofar Hilman.

The concept of Warkopolim is different from most coffee shops. Not only does it serve drinks, but this place also offers a variety of food with unique names taken from the Trio Grinboys podcast jargon.

Some of the eye-catching menu items include Mie Jujur, Mie Angka, Mie Yuhu, and even Mie Jagoan. These four names have special meanings for their fans. "For Mie Jujur, Rico usually talks honestly. For Yuhu, Wancoy has a program called Kulicoy. And for Mie Jagoan, I usually become the champion," said Gofar.

Not only unique-named noodles, Warkopolim also serves substantial Indonesian dishes. Some of their signature menus include Ketupat Sayur, Soto Betokau, and Lodeh Polim. "You definitely have to try the Ketupat Sayur," said Wancoy.

From a design perspective, Warkopolim targets young people with a trendy appearance and affordable prices. This place is expected to be a new option for hanging out while enjoying delicious food. "The prices are really affordable, great for hanging out and everything. It's not just for hanging out, our food is proper food. Usually, warkop food is identical to snacks and everything, but we also have substantial meals here," said Gofar.

Then Rico added that the business run by Grinboys is not just a trial. They have started to seriously develop the business unit they built together. "So far we want to focus on FnB first for the next few months because we just started, right? But what is clear is that the business unit where Grinboys has also started to be serious and focused on what they are doing. That's about it," said Rico.

It is not impossible that Warkopolim will open branches in other locations. However, for now, their focus is still on developing the first point in South Jakarta. "The place is designed like this to have character and we will open in other places, yes. God willing, we will open in several locations," said Gofar.

Although each of them is busy with personal activities, Gofar, Rico, and Wancoy still directly monitor the operations of Warkopolim. They often get involved in paying attention to small details. "Of course, on Saturdays and Sundays I definitely come here," concluded Wancoy.
