Rayen Pono Officially Reports Ahmad Dhani Regarding Allegations of Insulting the Pono Surname to the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency

Singer Rayen Pono took legal action by visiting the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The report submitted by Rayen relates to allegations of insult against the Pono surname, which is his large family's surname from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Rayen arrived at the Criminal Investigation Agency around 10:45 AM WIB and was not alone; he was accompanied by his legal team when making the report. He stated that the reporting process went smoothly and was well received by the police.

"Good afternoon friends, thank you for waiting. I have finished making the report and most of it is done. Yes, I was accompanied by legal counsel, this is Mr. Jajang and Ms. Fani along with the entire team," said Rayen at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters on Wednesday (4/23/2025). According to Rayen, all elements of the reported article have been studied and deemed to meet the criteria for legal submission. He is also satisfied with the response provided by the Criminal Investigation Agency regarding his report.

"The point is that the report today has gone well and has been received positively, and regarding the elements of the article, everything has met the requirements. Yes, essentially everything is in line with our expectations," he said.

Rayen's legal counsel, Jajang, confirmed that the report has been officially received by the Directorate of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency. He showed proof of receipt of the report as a form of clarity on the ongoing legal process.

"We thank our colleagues at Dirtipidum for receiving our report well; we have conveyed everything, and it has been well received by our friends, and today we have received the report, this is the proof of the report," said Jajang.

In its report, the Rayen party submitted several pieces of evidence deemed important to support the investigation process. The evidence includes various forms of digital communication and other supporting documents.

"Today we present some evidence that forms the basis of our report. First, there is video evidence of a live discussion when discussing copyright, then there are chat evidence in WhatsApp messages as well, and other evidence such as statements from community groups from the clan," explained Jajang.

The legal representatives also explained the legal articles that are the basis for the report. They referred to articles related to defamation and racial or ethnic discrimination. "The articles charged include Article 156 of the Criminal Code, then Article 315 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 16 Juncto Article 4 letter B, Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 40 of 2008 concerning the elimination of racial and ethnic discrimination. Our report has been submitted and the report has been issued," explained Jajang.

In response to the continuation of the legal process, the legal counsel confirmed that the next stages will proceed according to procedure. They also mentioned that several witnesses will be called to provide statements. "The process will definitely be carried out by the police institution. There will definitely be witnesses from both the complainant and the reported party. All of that will be examined," said Jajang.

One of the witnesses who is likely to be asked for a statement is Rayen's biological brother, who is said to have been at the location when the incident occurred. The presence of this witness is expected to strengthen the report that has been submitted.
