The commemoration event for the late Vidi Aldiano held at TPU Tanah Kusir was attended by the extended family and fans. However, the figure of the late's wife, Sheila Dara, was not seen among the crowd.
Vidi Aldiano's father, Harry Kiss, explained the absence of his daughter-in-law. Although Sheila was not present at the burial site, her parents were there to represent and pray for their late son-in-law on that special day. Here are the details.
"What is commemorated here, my in-laws came earlier. Sheila's mother and Sheila's father were here earlier," said Harry Kiss when met at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, Sunday (29/3/2026).
Regarding Sheila Dara's condition, Harry explained that the daughter-in-law is currently intentionally limiting herself from the spotlight. Although she has started to return to professional activities in the entertainment world, Sheila seems not ready to make direct statements to the media regarding memories of her husband.
"Sheila is intentionally being silent for now. She has resumed activities but she doesn't want to meet you all. Later, there will be all sorts of questions, hahaha. Last year we held an event chaired by Mrs. Sheila. The one where she used the pecel lele banner, in Pamulang, or somewhere like that," reminisced Harry.
Regarding the planned Hajj pilgrimage that Vidi registered with Sheila, Harry revealed that the plan has automatically changed. Because Vidi's Hajj visa was only issued after the artist passed away, the family decided to perform badal Hajj.
"Ibu Besba (Vidi's mother) has asked someone to perform the badal, the badal, right? Badal Hajj. We (the family) have already performed Hajj. It seems that Vidi registered with Sheila. The one who is going (to replace) is not, the substitute. Kak Sheila also canceled (going for Hajj this year). She can't possibly go alone," he added.
Harry Kiss also asked for understanding from all parties regarding Sheila Dara's current silence. He emphasized that everyone has their own way of dealing with loss, and the family fully supports Sheila's choice to remain calm.
"Hajj is a calling; if you are not called, then you are not. To Vidi's friends, I want to thank you for praying for Vidi, so many, alhamdulillah. We must also pray that when we pass away, there are as many people praying for us as there are for Vidi," concluded Harry Kiss.
