Ditho Hasian Sitompul expressed his pride when witnessing the funeral procession of his father, Hotma Sitompul, which was filled with military honors. He stated that this was a long-held dream of his father that finally came true.

"So it happened that Mr. Hotma was an advisory team member for the TNI Polri, back in the day, and my father always enjoyed military ceremonies like that. He once told me, 'Look, To, later when I pass away, I will receive a military ceremony because he received the Satya Lencana, and we can see that today his dream has come true,'" said Ditho.

Hotma Sitompul was known to have received the Satya Lencana Kebaktian Sosial from President SBY in 2013. The award was given for his services in establishing LBH Mawar Saron and helping thousands of poor people who could not afford legal services.

Philipus Sitepu, as the family spokesperson, stated that the military honors ceremony was not without reason. "This morning the family handed over Mr. Hotma to the state… because he had received the Satya Lencana Kebaktian Sosial," he revealed.

The burial procession was also attended by several military representatives and around 500 workers who paid their last respects. This reflects Hotma's dedication during his life in defending workers' rights.

"Mr. Andi Gani as the president of the labor union was present and delivered a speech because Mr. Hotma dedicated his life to defending those who are unable," continued Philipus.

Not only that, Hotma's funeral also became a moment of tribute from the Army Sons and Daughters Association (Hipakad) who were present to pay their respects in a special way.

Ditho stated that his father was a figure who had a wide impact, even until the end of his life. "Usually we can see how impactful this person is when he has been buried, how many people come," he said.

He also emphasized that the family will now continue the legacy and values instilled by their father, especially through LBH Mawar Saron.
