It Takes 10 Marines to Evacuate Aminah Cendrakasih 'Maknyak' Trapped in Floods

Kapanlagi.com - Veteran actress Aminah Cendrakasih was successfully evacuated when floods hit her residence in the Pinang Griya Permai area, Tangerang, recently. According to Rano Karno, the evacuation process of the actress who played Mak Nyak in the TV series Si Doel Anak Sekolahan was quite difficult.

Mak Nyak's residence, which is located right on the edge of a river with a very strong current, was the cause. As a result, 10 marines from the Navy were deployed to evacuate Mak Nyak.

"I have to thank the marine team who helped and as far as I know, there were 10 people who dived to rescue Mak Nyak, who I apologize for being blind, paralyzed, and on the second floor. I can imagine how difficult the evacuation process was," said Rano Karno when met in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Monday (6/1/2019).

1. Initially Called by Mak Nyak's Child

Rano Karno said that initially he received a phone call from one of Mak Nyak's daughters when the flood occurred on New Year's Eve 2020. At that time, he was in Bandung, so he immediately asked his colleague in Tangerang to evacuate Mak Nyak.

"Around 7 pm on New Year's Eve, I received a phone call from her daughter saying, 'Brother, let's evacuate Mak Nyak to the second floor'. Knowing that Mak Nyak's house often gets flooded, I immediately called my friend from afar and said, 'Whatever happens, Mak Nyak must be evacuated.' The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) was called down. But due to the strong current, they were assisted by the marine team," explained Rano Karno.

2. Taken to a Hotel

After successfully evacuating Mak Nyak around 1 am, Rano Karno asked his colleague to move Mak Nyak to the nearest hotel.

"For almost a week, starting from the 1st, at 1 am, we evacuated to the nearest hotel, and at that time, all hotels were full because of the flood victims, and it happened to be New Year's Day," he added.
