The transfer of Ammar Zoni to the Super Maximum Nusakambangan Prison has had serious implications on the ongoing legal process. His girlfriend, Dr. Kamila, revealed significant communication barriers that even hindered the preparation for the initial trial.

According to Dr. Kamila, since Ammar was transferred, communication access has become very difficult, even for his legal team. She admitted that she has not been able to communicate with Ammar at all.

"Not yet, not yet. I said the access is difficult," she stated after the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/10/2025).

Even worse, he revealed that Ammar's legal team, Jon Mathias, was only contacted by the prison one day before the first trial was held. This, of course, made the preparations very rushed and not optimal.

"Bang Jon only got contacted once, a day before the trial, on Wednesday, by Om Jon from the Nusakambangan side," he explained.

"That's why we are very, very reluctant. So, there can't be any communication between the legal team and Bang Amar, you know," he continued.

Dr. Kamila also questioned how the legal team could prepare a defense properly if communication was so difficult. "So how can they prepare for the trial if it's hard to even get in touch," she lamented.

As is known, Ammar Zoni was isolated in Nusakambangan after being suspected of being involved in a drug distribution network within the Salemba Prison.

Dr. Kamila also provided clarification regarding the timeline of Ammar's transfer. According to her, Ammar was temporarily transferred from Salemba Prison to Cipinang Prison after the cassation decision of his third case was issued, before finally being sent to Nusakambangan.

"So he was still in Salemba Prison. Then, after, after the January case, in March or April, the cassation was completed. Well, since the cassation was completed, it automatically means that the prison is a temporary detention. So he was transferred to Cipinang," she concluded.
