Karina Ranau Hasn't Dared to Cook Until Hearing Music, This is How She Remembers Epy Kusnandar

Karina Ranau confessed that she still holds onto several habits that she hasn't dared to do again since the passing of her husband, Epy Kusnandar. One of them is cooking for her child at home.

"The moments when we were at home together with my child, I would cook, and we would eat in a simple room, just the three of us. After eating, he would often say, 'Thank you, Mom, I love you,' things like that," said Karina Ranau when met in the Mampang area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

"That's why until today I haven't dared to cook. So I apologize to Qieu, 'Mom can't cook for you yet,' because it feels like Papi is right in front of me," she added.

Besides cooking, Karina also admitted that she is still unable to listen to music in the car like she used to with Epy. She even still keeps her husband's phone until now.

"I don't dare to cook yet, I don't dare to listen to music in the car. So it's silent in the car. Usually, we like to listen to music together. Then I opened the diary notes with my phone. I've kept the phone until today," said Karina.

Behind her sadness, Karina also harbors a number of dreams that she had planned with Epy but have yet to come true, one of which is to send their child to college at IKJ.

Even so, Karina admitted that she continues to strive to rise for her only child. She mentioned that her greatest strength now comes from her child and her faith in God.

"He is the best person I have ever known. So whatever my strength is, it is only one, my child, and God Almighty," concluded Karina.
