Kapanlagi.com - KKN DI DESA PENARI has become the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time with a total of ten million viewers. This success will be followed by a sequel titled KKN DI DESA PENARI 2: BADARAWUHI which is currently in pre-production stage.
Manoj Punjabi, as the producer, stated that the budget for the film will exceed the first one. As known, Manoj spent fifteen billion for the production.
"Talking about the budget is still too early, but for sure it will be higher than the first film. In terms of quality, we will raise the standard and I'm not just saying this for show," said Manoj during a press conference in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Monday (25/9/2023).
Manoj Punjabi said KKN DI DESA PENARI 2: BADARAWUHI will once again explore Desa Penari. However, for shooting purposes, not only the previous location will be used, but also a set will be built inside the studio.
"What is certain is that we will still use the Desa Penari set, we won't run away. But due to the development of the director, other places in the studio will be used for the interior to make it safer and not disturbed by rain," said Manoj.
KKN DI DESA PENARI 2: BADARAWUHI once again cast Aulia Sarah as the actress for Badarawuhi. According to Manoj Punjabi, only Aulia is suitable to play that character.
"In my opinion, if we want a sequel, the cast should remain the same. Aulia is the soul of Badarawuhi. Aulia is enthusiastic, and if the cast is enthusiastic, we are also enthusiastic," said Manoj.
