Kapanlagi.com - Lucky Hakim, the Regent of Indramayu, presents a trial of the Modern Agricultural Advanced Agricultural System (PM-AAS) in Plosokerep Village, Terisi District. The first harvest on August 26, 2026 recorded an average productivity of 10.45 tons per hectare based on measurements by BPS Indramayu Regency, with the highest yield reaching 12.35 tons per hectare.
"From initially around 5 to 6 it became 8 tons. Alhamdulillah, it's a blessing. It turns out that when measured by BPS, it already reached over 10 tons," said Lucky.
Amidst the pace of development and incoming investments, he emphasizes that regional progress should not overshadow the agricultural sector or the welfare of farmers. Rice fields are protected through the designation of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B), and industrial areas are prepared separately to maintain a balance in development.

Indramayu remains directed as one of the national food barns. The district government has designated approximately 92,888 hectares as LP2B, while an industrial area is prepared separately covering about 14,110 hectares to prevent the conversion of productive land.
According to Lucky, expanding land is not an easy option. Therefore, the focus is directed towards intensification so that food production can continue to increase even though the area of rice fields does not expand.
"The goal is to intensify the increase in tonnage, because we cannot add to the rice fields; in fact, the existing ones are decreasing. Indramayu already has about 92 thousand hectares of LP2B that cannot be altered," he asserted.

The PM-AAS program began trials in May 2026 in Plosokerep Village, Terisi District, covering an area of about 100 hectares. This system combines modern agricultural practices with technological devices to boost productivity.
The implementation involves nine farmer groups, one food brigade, and 93 farmers. Lucky has been actively promoting this implementation since the early planting stage, ensuring consistent field support.
The technology brought includes agricultural drones, pumping systems and irrigation, agricultural mechanization, and combine harvesters. This mechanism is arranged as a complete package system to ensure that the cultivation process to harvest runs efficiently.
"The application of PM-AAS and support from modern technology such as agricultural drones hopes to continuously increase rice productivity in Indramayu as a food barn, while also strengthening Indonesia's food security," Lucky explained.

The results of the trials began to show during the first harvest on August 26, 2026. Lucky returned to Plosokerep to see firsthand the achievements of PM-AAS in the field.
Productivity measurements were conducted by the BPS of Indramayu Regency through five sampling points. The average productivity reached 10.45 tons per hectare, while the highest achievement touched 12.35 tons per hectare.
This figure exceeded the initial target of 8 tons per hectare and is higher than the previous productivity, which was in the range of 5 to 6 tons per hectare.
"This certainly brings enthusiasm and optimism for all of us, especially the farmers, to continue to increase production and utilize agricultural technology," he said.

Although technology is an important part of the strategy, farmers are still placed as the main actors. The local government encourages the improvement of welfare through innovation, mentoring by extension workers, access to capital, production aid, and market expansion.
"Agricultural products from Indramayu have good quality. Through this Agricultural Day, we want to expand promotion and marketing so that agricultural potential continues to grow," he said.
This commitment has also resulted in national recognition. Indramayu received an award from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture as the First Place in National Rice Production Contribution with a production of around 1.5 million tons of GKG, as well as Second Place in the Rice Productivity category.
"This award is the result of cooperation between farmers, extension workers, and all parties involved, thank you to everyone," he said.
