Nicholas Saputra's Confession, Initially Acting in Films Just to Fill Time Outside of School Because of Boredom with Studying

1. Starting Acting in Movies

Nico first started acting in 2001 and immediately got a lead role in WHAT'S UP WITH LOVE?. At that time, Nico was still 17 years old and still in high school. Dian then asked why Nico was willing to act in movies.

"Initially, the activity of acting in movies was actually just to do something outside of school. At that time, I was getting bored with studying and playing baseball. Finally, I got the opportunity to act in a movie. This is an activity that I am proud of because at that time, I could collaborate with great people. My first film was WHAT'S UP WITH LOVE?, with Mira, Riri Riza. But even before that, it was like, 'Wow, a film'. That's how it started," said Nico.

2. Falling in Love with Movies

WHAT'S UP WITH LOVE? changed Nico's life. From there, he finally realized that acting in movies was his passion. Since then, he intended to dive into this world.

"I remember going home, on the first day of shooting, before the film was released, I said, 'I want to continue this. This is my world'. Because we had been practicing for a long time, we had seen the results on the monitor, 'Wow, it's magic'. I saw the film as something magical," he concluded.
