Nikita Mirzani Becomes Communication Ambassador for Pondok Bambu Prison, Here Are Her Important Duties

Nikita's role as a communication service ambassador is directed towards educating about the official communication channels available in the prison, while also reinforcing the prohibition of bringing and using mobile phones in the correctional environment. According to Ditjenpas, the participation of public figures can expand the reach of messages to inmates and the public.

On the other hand, the established cooperation is considered effective due to Nikita's positive response. Ditjenpas expressed appreciation and hope that her influence as a public figure can continue to bring constructive impact.

"I think this is a good cooperation. The idea would not have been realized if it had not been positively responded to by Ms. Nikita. Therefore, we thank Ms. Nikita. As an influencer, we hope Nikita continues to provide a good influence, both to the detainees and inmates at Pondok Bambu Prison, as well as to the community outside," said the Director General of Corrections, Rika Aprianti, at her office on Monday (3/8/2026).

1. Correcting Misconceptions in Society

Rika also explained that this step is simultaneously to correct public perception regarding the prohibition of mobile phone use, following a post on social media under the name Nikita that created the impression that she could still access her mobile phone from behind bars.

"But with that tweet, the public mindset will surely think, 'Wow, Ms. Nikita is using a mobile phone.' This is also what the Regional Office is doing to protect Nikita herself. That Nikita is following the rules and not using a mobile phone," Rika said.

Rika ensured that all activities on social media under Nikita's name are carried out by an admin outside the detention center. This clarification is made to avoid incorrect judgments that Nikita is accessing a mobile phone during her detention period.

She expressed her concern that posts on social media could instead lead to negative speculation about Nikita's compliance with detention rules.

"Poor Ms. Nikita. She is not using a mobile phone, and suddenly there is that tweet. It makes it seem like Nikita is not complying with the rules. In fact, not everyone knows that the account is managed by an admin," she revealed.

Rika emphasized the importance of clarification to prevent misunderstandings that could be detrimental. The Directorate General of Corrections believes that providing accurate information will protect individuals who are undergoing detention and maintain public trust in the security system implemented.

She explained, "So why is it confirmed by the Regional Office? To avoid misunderstandings. Because parties claiming to represent Nikita on social media could potentially harm Nikita herself," she clarified.

3. Nikita Mirzani Declared Compliant with Regulations

The Directorate General of Corrections stated that the results of the internal investigation regarding Nikita's use of a mobile phone showed no violations. Compliance with prison regulations is one of the points appreciated by the correctional staff.

"And based on the results of that investigation, indeed there are none. Nikita also follows the rules well. She even became a communication service ambassador for Pondok Bambu Prison. This is very helpful in my opinion," said Rika. (M Altaf Jauhar)
