Response from the Director General of Corrections Regarding the Issue of Nikita Mirzani's Release in August

Kapanlagi.com - Speculation about the possibility of Nikita Mirzani's release in August has resurfaced. This news is related to the process of Judicial Review (PK) submitted by her legal counsel to reduce her sentence.

In response to this, Director General of Corrections Rika Aprianti stated that there has been no official decision received by her office regarding Nikita's PK.

“Until now, our last confirmation at Pondok Bambu Prison has not provided any information like that. So if indeed the decision... the one who issues the decision is not us, we are just the implementers. We will definitely comply with the decision, comply with the law,” emphasized Rika Aprianti in her office on Monday (3/8/2026).

Rika stressed that the Directorate General of Corrections does not issue decisions but rather executes what the court has decided.

Rika explained that every inmate has the right to pursue legal remedies, including filing for a Judicial Review. If the PK request is granted by the court, the correctional authorities will immediately carry out the release process in accordance with the applicable regulations.

"If indeed the decision later is that the PK is granted, released, and discharged from August, then we will comply with that decision," she said.

1. Execution Without Delay and According to the Date of the Decision

Rika ensures that the execution process will not be delayed if there is already a valid legal basis.

“If there is a PK decision, it will definitely be released as soon as possible in accordance with that decision, there will be no delays. Because once again, we are executing the decision of the Judicial Review,” she said.

She emphasized that the implementation of the release will follow the time provisions contained in the decision. “At that time it is indeed already final. Once again, yes, it is already final. So we must release it as soon as possible according to the date of the decision, like that. It's the same as if it were PB (Conditional Release),” she explained.

2. No Special Preparations Yet at Pondok Bambu Prison

Rika mentioned that there is still no information or special preparations regarding the plan for Nikita Mirzani's return from Pondok Bambu Prison.

“For now, the last confirmation from the Pondok Bambu Prison is that there is none. From our side, there is also none, not yet,” concluded Rika. (M Altaf Jauhar).
