Nikita Mirzani's Lawyer Furious Over Witness Absence in Court, Asks Prosecutor to Summon Forcefully

The heated atmosphere colored the continuation of Nikita Mirzani's trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (21/8/2025). The tension was not only present inside the courtroom but also outside, as Nikita's lawyer, Fahmi Bachmid, expressed his anger to the media.

The trigger was the absence of a key witness scheduled to provide testimony that day. Fahmi Bachmid accused the witness of deliberately being absent for unacceptable reasons.

"And I also strongly object to a witness who lies. As if he is a sick person, all sorts of excuses, not wanting to attend the trial," Fahmi said in a raised voice.

Fahmi regrets the witness's attitude, which is considered disrespectful to the ongoing legal process. According to him, every citizen summoned by the court is obliged to attend and provide testimony. "Respect this trial process," he asserted.

Not to be taken lightly, Fahmi urged the Public Prosecutor (JPU) to take firm action. He requested that the prosecutor use his authority to summon the witness forcibly so that the trial is not hindered.

"If a witness is summoned by the prosecutor, they must attend. Don't keep making excuses as if you are sick or whatever," he said angrily.

"If you cannot attend, I ask the prosecutor to summon you forcibly. That's all I ask, okay," he added.

On the other hand, Fahmi also reiterated that the case involving his client is a fabrication. He claims that the reporting party is the one who pressured his client to give them money.

"So everything is clear, there are no problems. They happily gave the money, even asking for help, pressuring Mail so that he could meet Nikita," he explained.

According to him, this case was not suitable for trial from the beginning because it is full of coercion and irregularities. "This is all forced into trial. A case that is being forced to be tried in this court. This case is not legitimate at all," he concluded.
