The Trial of Jonathan Frizzy, Driver and Household Staff as Witnesses in the Etomidate Vape Case

Kapanlagi.com - The continuation of the trial regarding the alleged possession of a vape containing etomidate involving actor Jonathan Frizzy was held again at the Tangerang District Court on Wednesday (20/8/2025). The agenda for this session is to listen to the testimony from the household staff (ART) and Jonathan Frizzy's personal driver.

Jonathan Frizzy's legal team, led by Andreas Nahot Silitonga, believes that the witnesses' testimonies strengthen their defense from the beginning. According to him, the testimonies prove that his client had no knowledge of the contents of the package that became evidence.

"There are two witnesses today, one is the driver Ijonk, and the second is Ijonk's maid. The driver testified that he took Ijonk to the airport, after which he was asked by Erna to pick up brother Bahrun to be taken to Ijonk's house," said Andreas after the trial.

Andreas emphasized that the core of this case is the element of "knowledge" or Jonathan Frizzy's awareness of the illegal substance in the vape. He asserted that, to date, there is no evidence showing that Ijonk was aware that the vape contained etomidate.

"Because the materials are not visible, the etomidate liquid is not like marijuana or meth that can be seen directly. This is not visible, it cannot be known," Andreas explained.

Although the evidence was found in his client's house, Andreas reiterated that the process of bringing in the items was entirely controlled by Erna and Bahrun without Ijonk's knowledge.

"That's the fact. So Bahrun brought five boxes, four of which were instructed by Erna to be sent again. From witness statements, no one has confirmed that Ijonk knew that the package contained etomidate," he asserted.
