Not Present in Bali, Ahmad Dhani Emphasizes Fed Up with Maia Estianty

"I want to hold a wedding reception, and the wedding reception is up to me. And I don't want things like this to happen again. It can be divided, for example, the traditional blessing can be with his mother, right? The wedding reception can be with me," said Ahmad Dhani when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (4/5/2026).

"I also don't want my family, especially, to meet Maia again. My extended family. That's why the reason for not wanting to go to Bali is that my extended family does not want to meet Maia again. They are already fed up with it," he added.

Dhani admitted that he regretted not making a written agreement from the beginning regarding the division of roles in the wedding ceremony and the traditional blessing of his sons. He feels that many things happened outside the informal agreement that had beendiscussed earlier.

He emphasized that dividing the event is the best solution to maintain the tranquility of all parties. Dhani wants to have full authority when holding the "ngunduh mantu" event for his son without having to involve parties that are not desired by his extended family.

"I also regret that there were no agreements with El for the wedding ceremony and the water blessing event, because there are many things that we actually did not agree on," he said. 

Unresolved past disputes are considered the root of the tough attitude of Dhani's extended family. Although the children are now adults, the wounds and conflicts between their parents still leave a significant impact on the relationships within the extended family.

Dhani closed his statement by emphasizing that he has the right to determine who can attend the event he organizes himself. He wants to ensure that the comfort of his family is the top priority."In principle, we want to hold the event calmly without any pressure from any party," concluded Ahmad Dhani.
