Nunung Proud to be the 'Only' Senior Representative at the 2025 Indonesian Comedy Awards

The comedy stage of the homeland will once again be enlivened by the most prestigious award event, the Indonesian Comedy Awards (Anukom). Entering its fifth year, this event, a collaboration between Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) and the Indonesian Comedy Artists Association (PaSKI), is a testament to the consistency in appreciating Indonesian comedians.

Amid a lineup of shining young comedians, the legendary figure Nunung Srimulat is once again nominated. She cannot hide her pride upon learning that her name is alongside other younger female comedians in the Favorite Female Comedy Artist category.

"I am very happy to be nominated, of course. Coincidentally, I have been nominated every year," said Nunung Srimulat when met in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (19/8/2025).

For this 62-year-old comedian, the nomination feels special. She feels like a representative of her generation that is still surviving and existing in an entertainment industry that continues to regenerate. Her presence among names like Arafah Rianti, Boah Sartika, Hesty Purwadinata, and Mimin Eva is a source of pride for her.

"I am happy that my generation is in the nominations. There are so many young female comedians out there, I represent the older generation. So, I am the representative of the Srimulat generation at the Comedy Awards 5," she added.

The peak night of the 5th Indonesian Comedy Awards will be broadcast live on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 21:15 WIB. This event has a noble purpose, which is to provide a stage for appreciation, encourage regeneration, and strengthen the comedy ecosystem in Indonesia.

"Our hope is that the 5th Indonesian Comedy Awards is not just a mere award ceremony. There is a greater purpose, which is to serve as a form of appreciation, a platform for regeneration, and to inspire young comedians," said Fabian Dharmawan, Production Division Head of RCTI.

The mechanism for selecting winners is divided into two, namely the Favorite Category, whose results are determined by viewer voting through the RCTI+ application and Instagram until September 8, 2025, and the Selected Category, which is judged by a panel of professional judges. Intense competition will occur in various categories, such as Favorite Comedian featuring big names like Arie Kriting and Praz Teguh, as well as Favorite Male Comedy Artist showcasing Sule to Andhika Pratama.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of PaSKI, Jarwo Kwat, welcomed the collaboration that has been established for the fifth time. According to him, awards like Anukom should rightly be given to comedians who have worked hard to entertain the public. "PaSKI feels proud and happy to be able to collaborate again with RCTI. It is only fitting that we give appreciation through the Indonesian Comedy Awards to the comedians of the homeland," said Jarwo Kwat.
