Official BPOM Product but Reviewed Negatively, Shella Saukia and Elza Syarief Speak Out

Kapanlagi.com - Entrepreneur and celebrity Shella Saukia is back in the spotlight after admitting to suffering significant losses, both materially and morally, due to a review of her skincare product by Doctor Detective or Doktif.

The losses are estimated to reach billions of rupiah, prompting Shella to decide to take this case to the legal route.

"The losses are really huge. Material and moral, very significant. Yes, just with the investigator," Shella stated when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/1/2025). When asked about the amount of losses reaching billions, she simply replied, "Yes, it could be."

Shella's attorney, Elza Syarief, believes that Doktif's actions not only harmed her client financially but also tarnished Shella's reputation as a skincare entrepreneur.

"My client ended up begging, looking for food only to be played with, insulted, and bullied. Even though the product is really good, the product is BPOM certified, and can be accounted for," said Elza firmly.

Elza also questioned Doktif's capacity to review skincare products, considering that Doktif does not have official permission to do so. "Who is this Doktif? Does he have permission from the government to review?" said Elza.

According to Elza, the review conducted by Doktif not only harms Shella personally but also violates the official procedures set by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

She emphasized that BPOM is the only institution authorized to supervise and regulate pharmaceutical and skincare products in Indonesia.

"If there are products that violate regulations, you can report them directly to BPOM. BPOM has special investigators who will process it criminally. So there's no need to review until it becomes a livelihood," she explained.

Elza also revealed that Shella's skincare products previously faced challenges during the BPOM licensing application. However, after undergoing guidance from BPOM, the products now meet the established standards.

"Under BPOM's guidance, my client started producing products that comply with BPOM's guidance. Thus, these skincare products were released. They are now in accordance with BPOM," Elza concluded.

With this case, Shella hopes to achieve justice and remind the public to be more cautious regarding reviews conducted by unauthorized parties.
