Officially a Member of the DPR, Uya Kuya is Ready to Prove that Artists Can Make a Real Contribution to the People

Regarding his duties in the DPR, Uya is still waiting to see which commission he will be assigned to. However, he expressed hope to work in one of Commission 1, 3, or 9.

1. Targeting Commissions 1, 3, and 9 for Assignment

"If it were up to me, I hope for either Commission 1, 3, or 9," said Uya, referring to his wife who is also actively involved in the social world.

The reason this father of two is targeting Commission 1 is because that commission oversees the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Communication and Information, KPI, and Defense.

"Commission 1 includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Communication and Information, KPI, and Defense. In terms of Communication and Information and KPI, we certainly know a lot about that, especially regarding the history of Indonesia. As for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, my focus for the last 4 years has been largely on the Indonesian citizenship environment abroad," he said.

2. Feels Commission 3 is the Most Suitable for Him

In addition, Uya also feels that Commission 3 could be the right place for him. This commission oversees law enforcement in the National Police, KPK, and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"That's really what I do as a person. If Commission 3 is about law enforcement in the National Police, KPK, and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, among these three, I have also been closely monitoring legal cases in Indonesia, from domestic violence, bullying, to many legal issues," he explained.

3. Wants to Prove Himself Trustworthy

However, being a member of the DPR is certainly different from his previous profession. Uya acknowledges that this role comes with a much greater responsibility.

"It's different, because this task is a trust that we must carry out, and God willing, even though many people are skeptical about artists becoming members of the council, we will prove it," said Uya.

4. Wants to Prove that Artists Can Contribute

Uya realizes that there are negative views from some members of the public towards artists entering politics, but he is optimistic that he can break this stigma.

According to Uya, it is important to give opportunities to artists who become council members so that they can prove that they can also contribute to society.

5. Want Society to Give Opportunities to Artists

"Let's prove it, give those artists a chance to prove themselves. Perhaps the artists who are members of the council are the ones who have a greater impact on society. We hope so," said Uya.
