Pablo Benua and Rey Utami Accuse Each Other, Mentioning the Editor Who Uploaded and Spread the 'Ikan Asin' Video

Kapanlagi.com - The trial for the alleged defamation case involving explicit content 'Ikan Asin' which implicated Pablo Benua, Rey Utami, and Galih Ginanjar was held again on Monday (10/2) at the South Jakarta District Court. In the trial, nine witnesses were presented, including witnesses from the police, Pablo Benua's driver and editor, and Barbie Kumalasari.

One of the witnesses named Derry Allen, who had been an editor for Pablo Benua and Rey Utami, gave his testimony. Derry claimed to have been tasked with editing the Youtube videos of Pablo Benua and Rey Utami, and during his approximately four-month employment, Derry stayed at Pablo's place in Sentul, Bogor, which was also used as a shooting location for the videos.

"The video (Ikan Asin) was made in a shooting room. I was ordered, instructed by Pablo and Rey to edit it, because my job was editing and connecting the videos," Derry said when giving his testimony before the panel of judges.

According to Derry, the title of the task and the content to be created were based on ideas from Pablo Benua and Rey Utami, but when the video was uploaded to Youtube, he claimed not to know who did it. Besides admitting to not knowing the person who uploaded the 'Ikan Asin' video, Derry also claimed not to have access to upload to Pablo and Rey's YouTube channel.

"I don't know (who uploaded it), the video is on YouTube, and I left the job," he said.

Afterwards, the testimony given by Derry was directly denied by Pablo Benua, who stated that it was Derry who uploaded the 'Ikan Asin' video to Youtube. Rey Utami also explained a similar thing, claiming that she requested revisions for the video that were ignored by Derry.

"Actually, the one who uploaded the video GALIH GINANJAR CERITA MASA LALU was Derry's sibling who used the computer, because the computer was also logged in with a Youtube account," said Pablo Benua.

"Derry uploaded the video without my or Pablo's permission. From the beginning, he promised to revise the video, but the revisions were not given to us, and it was delayed until after Eid, he was lazy to edit. Finally, it was uploaded and many videos were not edited," said Rey Utami.

2. Declared Suspects

However, the denial conveyed by his former boss was contradicted by Derry, the editor who remained steadfast in his testimony.

Fairuz A Rafiq, as the aggrieved party, reported to the police on charges of defamation. As a result, after an examination, Galih Ginanjar, Pablo Benua, and Rey Utami were then declared as suspects and all three have been detained at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Detention Center since July 2019.
